It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We started decorating for Christmas yesterday and are feeling all of the cozy and festive feels. Decorating for the Holidays is always the most fun because you can take everything down, start from scratch, and go way, way overboard. Not a soul can judge you for that-unless they’re the Grinch.
We bought a brand-new tree last year and it’s safe to say we’re obsessed. It is a 7.5ft pre-lit artificial tree that comes in three pieces. All of the fluffy white snow creates a little bit of a mess, but once you vacuum once, you pretty much won’t see any more mess until it’s time to take it down again. Not to mention, it’s on sale for 50% off right now. Yes, even before Christmas!
The galvanized tree collar is a nice touch, especially when our goal was to use all of the neutral and metallic tones. It breaks-down into halves for easy storage and hides the ugly tree stand that nobody has time for.
Since the tree is already white, we decided to stick to a neutral white, gold, silver, and brass color scheme. A large container of metallic ball ornaments was a great base and we also added a ton of sentimental pieces like birds, dragonflies, teacups, and snowflakes- as long as they match the color-scheme of course. Our mom taught us to use fluffy faux white hydrangeas as fillers for any large holes and curly picks to add texture and fun.
As for the mantel, we added a large silver mirror to brighten up the space and reflect the shimmering lights. Place your light strands down first, then layer any foliage on top of the light strands so you can see the light without seeing the cords. We also took silver and gold ball ornaments and scattered them throughout the arrangement.
These trees are a brand-new purchase and helped us completely transform the space. The galvanized buckets come with the trees and match our tree collar we already had on the large Christmas tree. They come in a set of 3 for $55 which is a steal for how large of a space they take up and the impact they make. Not to mention, they will last year after year.
To cozy-up the empty space we have a faux log fireplace insert that we plug right into the wall and, poof, we have ourselves a legit-looking fire. We added two baskets stacked and layered an ultra-soft sherpa blanket for more texture and warmth.
Here is a recap of all the decor:
